I'm OBSESSED with learning how to do anything and everything for my business from my iPhone. This has been essential to maximizing my snuggle time on the couch with my Yorkie-Poo and growing my business on the go.
THERE'S A BETTER WAY TO MARKET YOUR BUSINESS.
HEY! I'M TABITHA CARRO AND I'M A...
I'm very passionate about teaching my techniques to fellow business owners so they too can realize the creative freedom that's gained when you're no longer limited to tech, software, or a designer for your visual marketing needs.
LIKE...A REAL TEACHER
I'm also an actual certified teacher as well. I've taught kindergarten for six years and am now in my 7th year as a 4th grade Spanish immersion math & science teacher. I've discovered there's not a lot of difference between teaching children and teaching adults. ☺️
In my Spanish immersion position, I needed more resources so I began learning how to make them myself. This led to me becoming a TeachersPayTeachers seller. This was my first jump into business and into design. Unless you count my failed attempt at being a...
CAKE BOSS WANNABE
It wasn't that my cakes were so bad, I just had zero business skills. And back then (2009ish) the iPhone wasn't ready yet to create awesome visuals for my cakes like it is now. Do I want to go back to cake decorating? Heck, no! It's an amazing creative outlet but seriously hard work. And once you finally have your masterpiece, you have to watch people eat it.
Teaching full-time and maintaining my curriculum design business was no walk in the park either. Especially when I added in marketing with professional photos and a YouTube channel. Using a camera and programs like Adobe Premiere were doable but no fun at all. The learning curve ate at my precious time. There was no creative joy in it whatsoever. ☹ (Don't let those fake smiles fool you - I was exhausted!)
SMARTPHONE VISUAL MARKETING ADDICT
Honestly, I can't even tell you the timeline of my transition to my iPhone for all of my designs, photos, and videos. It was gradual and experimental. Slowly but surely, as I discovered new apps and techniques, I was learning to do it all from my iPhone.
It began with product photos. Then I discovered how to turn them into social media designs for Pinterest, Facebook ads, Instagram, etc. Then I took those designs along with iPhone footage and began creating videos. Now I'm in this weird place where I can't go back to creating visual content on a desktop even if I wanted to.
Learning to edit photos and create marketing designs on my phone anytime, anywhere has given me a sense of control and of FREEDOM. It has helped me in SO many ways besides just saving time. I'm not limited to waiting on a designer or when I can actually get to my desktop to work on visuals.
Thanks to using my iPhone, I've been able to:
* create blog images
* design Pinterest images
* make Facebook video and photo ads
* create all my social media designs
* make YouTube videos incredibly faster
* design all video tutorials and visuals for two online course sites
* create all the visuals for my landing pages and website (like all the ones you see here)
* make product explainer videos

So, my businesses have definitely benefited from my choice in a life partner. My husband happens to be a graphic designer and proficient photographer. He's been my mentor from the start and gave me my first iPhone back in 2008. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably still have my Nextel flip phone. Side note: He's from Argentina. We had an online romance and that's how I learned Spanish.
What can I say? Spending more time with her on the couch is probably what led me to find ways to use my iPhone to work on my business instead of always being stuck at my laptop. She's my ❤️.
This dog was born to be a model, look at her! ???????? This is an untouched photo taken in the beta portrait mode of my iPhone 7 Plus. Well, I added one little thing with the @acolorstory app cause I just can't help myself. See it along with Pookie's legit modeling session in my Instagram Story. ????#iphone7plus
If you by chance opened the SPMS newsletter this past Monday, you know I talked about the @procamera_app and how the HDR tool is amazing for outdoor pics. Here's an unedited pic I just took with the app of my sweet Pookie Lou. ???????????? Sign up for the newsletter here ➡️ bit.ly/smartphonenewsletter
