A cool feature at Instagram is the ability to re-post Instagram posts to your Stories. You tap the little airplane icon on any post and send it to your Stories.
I love this because it’s a great way to bring traffic to your latest Instagram post via your Stories and to also share awesome posts from others.
Oftentimes when you repost to your Stories, the background Instagram automatically creates is not so pretty. And it rarely matches your brand colors.
Let’s fix that!
Change Instagram Story Background Color
1) Tap the marker tool.
2) Choose a color or use the eyedropper to pick a color.
3) Press down on the screen for a second or two.
This will turn the background to whichever color you choose.
If you want to match your brand colors more closely, press down on any color option to access the full spectrum of colors.
Now you can create a Story that is much more aesthetically please for your audience and matches your style of brand better. And this tip on changing the Instagram Story background color works whether your re-sharing a post or simply just using Instagram Stories.
Note: There is one scenario where this hack doesn’t work. That is when you upload a photo or video from your camera roll that isn’t vertical and the app also chooses a background color to fill in the margins. When you press on the screen to create a solid background color, it covers everything, even your image or video.
