How To Market Your Launch With The Instagram Stories Countdown Sticker
In Instagram Stories, swipe up to import an image (I made this one with Adobe Spark Post) or take a photo.
Then tap the sticker icon at the top of the screen. You should find the Instagram Stories Countdown Sticker.
Tap on Create Countdown and give it a title.
When you tap the color wheel at the top of the screen, you get specific color selections. Right now, you just get what they have, so you’ll want to plan your promo design around that, especially with regards to brand colors.
Tap on the time to set the date and time. It automatically calculates the countdown time for you and will keep on counting down while the countdown sticker is in your Stories. I love that!
You can pinch and change the size of the sticker to make it fit within the design of your Story.
Your audience gets the option to tap for a Reminder about your event. So you might even want to add a reminder text in your story to let people know that they can tap on your countdown timer for a reminder.
The Reminder feature is awesome because it should notify your audience closer to the deadline about your launch or promotion.
This is what your audience will see when they view your Countdown Sticker. The reminder message from Instagram pops up. If your audience taps on your Countdown Sticker, they’ll get a reminder option and also an option to share your countdown. I see a lot of potential here. Perhaps a giveaway where followers must re-share your countdown sticker?
Every time someone taps your countdown sticker, you’ll get a notification right in your notification feed. You’ll also get a notification if someone shares your countdown sticker. This could be a way to nurture a possible lead for your launch or promo. But it could also be a nuisance, so think carefully before deciding to message someone who taps your countdown sticker.
