Do you need to remove an object in a photo you took with your iPhone? I often need to do this to make space for text or a logo or because there is simply something distracting in a product photo. Like the C on this pumpkin.
But thanks to the TouchRetouch app, object removal in your iPhone photos is not a problem.
My go-to app for this job is ALWAYS the TouchRetouch app. Especially because the interface they have now is amazing and it does a great job to cleanly remove objects in your iPhone photos.
It’s almost magical.
How To Remove Objects In Photos With The TouchRetouch App
Scroll down for the video tutorial or keep reading for in-blog instructions.
1. Open the photo in the TouchRetouch app.
2. Tap Object Removal.
(There are several other cool features in this app but we’ll keep it simple by just using this tool for now.)
3. You have two options for marking/coloring the object or area you want removed.
You can either tap Brush and color in the object. Make sure to go as close to the margin of the object as possible. This will increase your chances of a clean removal.
(Make sure to use the zoom circle at the top as a guide.)
Or you can tap the Lasso tool and draw a circle around the object.
Once you let go, the object should be covered in green. If there are some uncovered patches, use the brush tool to fill them in until the object is completely covered.
4. Tap Go, cross your fingers, and the object or area should now be removed – yay!
5. If the results are a little messy, you may need to go back and try again.
Do your best to only cover the object and nothing else.
